What is the 5th Annual Smokin' in the Park BBQ Event?

The 5th Annual Smokin' in the Park BBQ Event is an annual event held the third Saturday in October that brings together the State's best BBQ teams who cook up their award-winning food for over seven thousand barbecue enthusiasts in and around the award-winning Viejas Casino and Outlet Center. Attracting people near and far to celebrate America’s authentic culinary and musical traditions, the event also includes a fantastic line up of music, vendors, merchandise and more.

How much does it cost to attend the event?

There is no charge to attend. Take in the sights, sounds and smells of the event – from great live music to engaging seminars and demonstrations – without ever dropping a dollar. Of course, it’s near impossible to resist the delicious offerings for sale at the event -- the country’s best barbecue from the State's best teams, a great selection of beverages and desserts, and fun ‘cue merchandise including sauces, cookbooks, t-shirts and more (prices vary).

Where do I purchase tickets? How do I purchase food and beverages at the event?

The 5th Annual Smokin' in the Park BBQ event is not a ticketed event; admission is free. Plates of barbecue are sold directly from the street vendors, or enter the People's Choice Award by sampling and voting for championship BBQ from the participating teams (five 2 oz. samples for $10). Only cash will be accepted.
